So you've always wanted to appear in a music video? This Sunday august 23rd , you are getting your chance!

Acclaimed Argentinean director Francisco Campos-Lopez , (winner of "BEST THRILLER" at the New York International Independent Film Festival in 2007.see http://franciscocampos-lopez.blogspot.com/ for samples of his movies and videos), has signed on to direct a video for "Going Down?", a single off of Conshafter's newest full-length, "Bombs Away, Baby", in locations in and around Richmond this weekend.

This Sunday, we are filming one of the scenes here in the RVA and we are looking for 30-50 extras to appear as showgoers to one of Conshafter's (in)famous appearances at Alley Katz.basically a mock rock concert. Who knows, we might even play for real! We'll also be giving away Conshafter CDs and other merchandise, and food and drink will be provided (if you ask really nicely). It should be a blast, as those who participated in our last video (2006's "The Big Set-Up") can attest to.

Details:

Where: Alley Katz rock club, 10 Walnut Alley, in the historic Shockoe Bottom district of downtown Richmond (see www.alleykatzrva.com for information on how to get there)

When: Sunday, August 23, 10am-2pm. Please be there promptly at 10 in order to secure a spot.

What to Wear: Dress as you would for a rock concert.

No age requirement. All participants will be required to sign a waiver that basically says you are allowing the band to use your likeness for a video.

Saturday Aug 8th Conshafter is headlining and coordinating a show to benefit AIDSWalk Richmond (www.aidswalkrichmond.org). Tickets are selling rather quickly so if you have not already purchased yours, please do so through a Conshafter band member or the website below. Remember, they are $8 in advance and all proceeds go directly to AIDSWalk Richmond.

Also, Conshafter will be appearing on CBS Channel 6 WTVR “Good Morning Virginia” Thursday morning august 6th to play acoustic and do an interview about the show with AIDSWalk founder Scott Sibley.

"Bombs away, baby!" HAS CLIMBED on the cmj top 200 WITH A TOP CHART POSITION OF 147! Buy it on iTunes here.

tHERE ARE 13 stations charting the record with three new debuts and a few great chart moves. This week KSJS in San Jose, a core station, had a huge move on the charts, spinning the record 5 times, and moving the record to #5 on their charts. We also are in the top ten at WMLU in Farmville VA (#6), and at Riddle Radio at #8, and KLCU at #10. Our new debuts this week came fro WVOU in Collegeville PA (#14), WKWZ on Long Island came in at #18, and WPTS in Pittsburgh at #20. We also picked up a bunch of new adds this week, including WVFI (Nortre Dame), WSIA (Staten Island NYC), KCSC (Chico CA), and WCNI in New London CT.

We were helped along by the 21 stations charting the album especially the support we got from core stations WUNH in Durham, NH (#8), KSJS (#22), WITR in Rochester, NY (#27), WUMD (#23) and WBWC (#29).

"Bombs away, baby!" debuts on the cmj top 200!!!

We had a great week at college with Conshafter, debuting on the CMJ Top 200 at #197. We've got 17 stations charting us this week, with great core support from KSJS in San Jose (#10), WBWC in Cleveland (#24), WUMD in North Dartmouth MA at #22. Other supporters include Riddle Radio at #2, WGMU at #8, WMLU in Farmville at #16, WSRU in Slippery Rock PA at #19, XTSR in Baltimore at #26, and KWCR in Ogden UT at #27. We've now been added at more than 90 stations with new adds this week in from WMUC, WSAM, WGLS, and WAIH to name a few. All in all a great week and we'll be looking to build on our debut next week.

We've got some Blank-Fest Richmond results to announce: We raised $505 cash, 70 blankets, and 58 pillows to donate to Richmond VA non-profit organization The Daily Planet. Thanks to Crossroads Coffee and Ice Cream for sponsoring Blank-Fest Richmond. Thanks also to the bands who donated their time and music: Susan Greenbaum, Roslyn, Earthtone, Pennyshaker, and Blue Line Highway. This is the first year Conshafter was able to give a Christmas present, and in a tough economy that felt really good, so thanks to all your donations and support at the show.

Thanks to all who came out for CD Release party for "Bombs Away, Baby!" at Toad's Place in Richmond VA. We'd like to thank Duchess of York, The Half Jeffersons, and Roslyn for their support. We've been getting a lot of comments on the impressive appearance of the CD. We owe that to Jesse Ledoux who was commissioned for album artwork for “Bombs Away, Baby.” We’re huge fans of Jesse’s and are honored that he took on our project.As for the big sound? Well, that's all due to our friend Brian "Big Bass" Gardner.

Special thanks to Miguel Urbiztondo who produced "Bombs Away, Baby!" and to Bryan Walthall and the folks down at Sound of Music Recording Studios in Richmond VA for making a truly unique sounding record that we hope everyone really likes.
